"Transposing chaos theories to canvas.
Theoretical made practical.
However,
Bruno Sluydts emphasizes the paintings, more than the theory behind it."

Kris Duys (°1959) has been changing between figurative and abstract painting all his career. The paint has to tell its own story without words. No deeper message has to be found.
It is not about what is painted, it is about the way it is painted.
For his latest series, multiple canvases are painted simultaneously layer by layer, with a cleared mind in short sessions during several days, until intuition indicates one is ready.
This is resulting in colourfull, different sized paintings that all interact with each other in a very intriguing way.

Wim Jacobs (°1983) is an Antwerp-based art painter.
He was born in an artistic family in Eindhoven (NL) and raised in Essen (BE). After graduating Sint-Lucas School of Arts in Antwerp, he studied Fine Arts at the Visual Arts Acadamey Sint-Lukas in Brussels.
Throughout the years, the interaction between form and colour in combination with the quest for balance resulted in his own visual language. The majority of his work is abstract, while the more figurative work can be rather spontaneous and experimental. Nonetheless, the same characteristics return.

In the 60's and 70's Manou Kersting used to be the worst student in class, except for drawing lessons.
From the age of 13 he played the double bass in his father's Manouche Jazz formation (Gregor Joseph Kersting). Though, as he already decided at the age of 6 that he would be an actor, acting got in the first place and this would determine his career.
6 years ago, after turning the first season of the black comedy television show Crimi Clowns, he wanted to offer director Luc Wyns a special present and he painted the eyes of Luc's character: clown Norry. That was the moment he rediscovered painting.

Anton Snt works in a variety of media. He studied at the Minsk School of Art (part of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts) in Belarus and at the University of Warsaw in Poland.
Upon completing his studies in Warsaw, Snt returned to Minsk and organized the multimedia group an angelico. The an angelico group first exhibited at the international multimedia Transit_01 Festival in 2001 and the project “Dialogue” with Swiss artist Lisa Sauffer.
Currently, Snt balances his time between his painting and drawing studio practice and his multimedia work with an angelico.

"Playing jazz music from the 40’s, 50’s but also modern jazz allows and helps me to make the work I make because it gives me the feeling of the abstract expressionism movement, which you can see has a big influence in my work, combined with memories of my youth.
The only aspect I choose before I begin a painting is the base colour. The next step(s) arise spontaneously in the different series I’m working on at a specific moment.
In my work I use different materials. From regular acrylics to industrial paints, housepaint and oil based paints and by using different techniques like dripping, pouring but also working with old brushes, pallet knife as well as sometimes with my hands… That’s how I achieve the effects, depth and use of colour that you see in my work."
