Wim Jacobs (°1983) is an Antwerp-based art painter.
He was born in an artistic family in Eindhoven (NL) and raised in Essen (BE). After graduating Sint-Lucas School of Arts in Antwerp, he studied Fine Arts at the Visual Arts Academy Sint-Lukas in Brussels.

Throughout the years, the interaction between form and colour in combination with the quest for balance resulted in his own visual language. The majority of his work is abstract, while the more figurative work can be rather spontaneous and experimental. Nonetheless, the same characteristics return.

Wim about his work:

“ The basis of my work is the act of painting itself. Rather then a fixed image, the process determines the result. It's what I call observational painting. Every blank canvas challenges me to create unique combinations. Layer by layer I search for synergies between form, figure, texture and colour; let them contrast and co-evolve."
