"The vision for ‘La Forêt’ unfolded when we zoomed in on Julian Schnabel's work. Savage landscapes came to life in the broken crockery of his paintings. Sharing this inspiration with Natalie Van Lijsebettens' fav painter & artist led to canvases oozing a sultry and mysterious atmosphere. Like iconoclasts, we greedily cut parts from Ilse Vanderbeken's paintings and fused her brushstrokes with the leather and shape of our footwear, creating a unique appeal for each individual piece. Artist Jan Mast provides the final layer of atmosphere."
